Garlic Rasam

Ingredients:

Garlic                   8 to 9 pods
Tamarind              small lemon size
Red Chilli            3
Cumin seeds        1/2 tsp
coriander seeds   1/2 tsp
Toor dal                1 tsp
Black pepper        1 tsp
Curry leaves         4 to 5
Mustard seeds and urad dal for tempering. Salt for taste.

Procedure:

1. Fry the whole garlic pods in the oil till they turn to slight golden brown. Then add a cup of water and boil it for 10 min.
2. Dry roast the toor dal, black pepper, cumin seeds, coriander seeds and red chilli. Then grind it coarsely. This is the rasam powder for this garlic rasam.
3. After 10 mins, mash the garlic well using potato masher.
4. Now add the tamarind pulp, once it starts to boil add the ground rasam powder and curry leaves. Let it boil for 2 mins.
5.Season it with mustard seeds and urad dal.
