Kaachiya Moru

Its an easy and tasty Kerala cuisine. Similar to "more kulambu" in Tamil Nadu.


Ingredients required:

Onion                  1 diced (Indian size)
Tomato               2  diced(Indian size)
Red chilli             1
Ginger                 small piece
Curd                   1 cup (thick curd)
Mustard Seeds     1/4 tspn
Curry Leaves       3 to 4 leaves
Coriander Leaves little

To Grind:

Coconut                        half cup
Cumin Seeds                 1 tspn
Green chilli                    2 to 3
Turmeric powder           1/2 tspn

By adding some water grind coconut, green chillies, turmeric powder and cumin seeds. Then add the ground paste to the curd, mix it well and add required amount of salt.

Procedure:
  1. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once mustard seeds starts to splutter, add red chilli, curry leaves and onions.
  2. When onion turns transparent add the tomatoes and fry well till tomatoes gets mashed.
  3. After frying the tomatoes turn the stove to low flame and add the curd coconut mixture.
  4. Heat it for 2 to 3 mins and switch off the stove and garnish it with coriander leaves.

-> Do not over heat or boil the curd.
-> You can add little or more water in the curd according to your required consistency of thickness.
